You are the best person to determine when the most appropriate time is to convert. Changing accounting software is an important step in your business journey so it is wise to allow for time to ask questions upfront, during or after the conversion process if there is anything you are unsure about. Our recommendation is that you convert in between busy times:
How Long Does it Take to Convert a File to Xero?
Once you have uploaded your file, you will then be directed to your own status page, where you will be asked to select your conversion service. By choosing the Accelerate package you receive priority service. Meaning that your file will always be at the front of the queue for each stage it goes through. For Insight and Accelerate packages, you will also have to complete your bank account mapping. Once these steps have been completed, the conversion process starts. We aim to deliver your new Xero subscription including your data within:
- MYOB Desktop file will take up to 3 business days.
- All other files will take up to 5 business days.
You can follow the progress of your file by viewing the link to your conversion status page which you received after uploading your file.
Why Does Delivery Time Vary?
Not every conversion takes the same amount of time or resources. Some can be turned around in a matter of hours, others can take up to the full number of business days. Usually, a longer conversion time is due to errors in the file or the size of the file or some non-standard accounting practice. If it looks like taking longer we will contact you as soon as we expect this to happen and let you know the reason as to why it might be late.
