Getting Ready to Convert

MYOB Preparation Checklist

AlertIMPORTANT - It is ESSENTIAL you work through the Pre-Conversion Checklist found here before starting your conversion.
  1. Complete this in the file you are providing for conversion.
  2. Known issue areas Accounting Basis and Tax Rates - not syncing between desktop and online.
  3. If the essential preparation items are not complete you WILL have issues in Xero.
  4. Some of the items on this list are optional as you may be able to action these more easily in Xero post-conversion.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact our support team via email at support@jetconvert.com.

How to Create a Desktop Back-up of my MYOB File

1. Open your MYOB file.
2. Click > File menu > Back Up

3. If prompted please select Backup Company File only.

4. Choose where to save the file (we recommend your desktop). Do not set a password, as this can cause delays.

5. Click Back Up.
6. Once complete you will see a Zip folder on your desktop or the preferred saved location.
Please do NOT attempt to manually change the extension on your file, as this will make it unable to be opened.
Once you have done this, simply go to our website and load your file following the step by step instructions.
Notes
NOTE: Please do not add a password to the zipped folder.

How to Reduce the Size of my MYOB File (only for V19 and earlier)

  1. You can reduce the file size by selecting File > 'Optimise Company File'.
  2. You can also roll over into the current financial year if you haven't already (keep a backup of the unrolled file in case you want to go back for further history).
This may reduce the file size sufficiently and if it does try uploading again using the smaller file once zipped.
Alert
  • If the file is over 800MB, processing may take longer than 3 business days.

  • There is no guarantee that reducing file size will make conversion possible.

  • If you cannot get the file under 800MB, we can assist with custom conversions.

Transaction Types that May Lead to Issues
